Historica Dominion Institute’s Encounters with Canada
Since the year 2000, Linda Brunet has been Director General of Encounters with Canada which became Historica Encounters with Canada in 2006. She made the move from Montreal to Ottawa in 1997 where she worked as Director for Experience Canada, a Canadian Unity Council (CUC) youth program until 2000. Before joining the CUC, she worked as President for Mécanique L.P. Brunet Inc. (1976 – 2001), a specialized Centre for foreign cars. She is particularly proud to mention that 98% of the company’s customers were women. Renowned business woman, Linda has been an active member on many businesses and community Board of Directors in Montreal such as: President of the Quebec Business Women Association, President of the West Island of Montreal Chamber of Commerce, Member of the Executive Board of the West Island Women’s Shelter, West Island Local Development Centre (CLD) and the West Island Development Council to name a few. Linda has been honorary Chairperson of the Christmas season designated-driver program (Opération Nez Rouge) and also honorary Chairperson for a fundraising conducted by the Montreal Canadians for the benefit of The Quebec Society for Disabled Children. In 1998, she was awarded West Islander of the Year and in 2002, she was recipient of the Golden Jubilee Medal.
