Katia Sebastiani
Legal Counsel
Katia was born and raised in Montreal. received her law degree (LL.B.), from the Université de Montréal in 1996 and a Specialized Postgraduate Diploma in Taxation from the Université de Montréal in 1999. She has considerable professional experience with Boggia et Associés (Montreal) (1998), Ménard Mageau Valiquette (Montreal) (1999 to 2004), Adessky Poulin (Montreal) (2004), and with Cain Lamarre Casgrain Wells (Montreal) (2005 to present).
Katia is a tax generalist who counsels a wide range of clients on all aspects of tax law, including tax planning, estate and will planning, corporate reorganization, and sales and acquisition planning. She also represents taxpayers in disputes with the various tax authorities over their assessments.
In addition to her work in taxation, Ms. Sebastiani has acquired considerable experience in corporate and commercial law and is frequently called on to advise on business transactions and draft and negotiate agreements of all kinds. She has given several lectures on tax law to APFF (Association de planification fiscale et financière), and written articles on tax law in the journal of the APFF.
Katia is the Chair of The Ombrie Regional Association and a member of the Animal Rights Committee, Neurochem Inc. (biotech research firm).
She has received an Award of Excellence in Law Studies from the Université de Montréal and a Governor General of Canada Bronze Medal Award.
Katia is a Co-Founder of the Co-Founder of the Encounters With Canada Support Foundation.
