"The Encounters with Canada Support Foundation provides financial support for the Encounters with Canada (EWC) program.  The primary objective of EWC is to bring young Canadians of different backgrounds and regions together in order to give them an opportunity to learn about one another, to discover their country through one another, and to gain a better understanding of Canadian Institutions.   It is vitally important to the future of a country as large as Canada that our youth have first-hand knowledge of the many varied regions that form this great country.  For the past twenty-eight years, the EWC program has provided a very positive learning experience of this nature for several thousand young Canadians each year."
