Foundation Constitution
- The name of the Society is THE ENCOUNTERS WITH CANADA SUPPORT FOUNDATION.
- The purposes of the Society are:
- to receive money and other assets by way of gift, donation, bequest or otherwise, and administer and invest the same within the guidelines of the Investment Policy Statement of the Society in effect from time to time;
- to conduct or supervise campaigns and other activities for the solicitation of gifts, donations and bequests;
- to use such gifts, donations and bequests and income from the investment of such gifts, donations and bequests to make grants to:
- the Encounters With Canada Program for such purposes as determined by the Encounters With Canada Foundation’s Board of Directors,
- the Program’s participants, or to
- qualified charitable organizations as described in the Income Tax Act (Canada).
- Upon winding up or dissolution of the Society, the assets which remain after payment of all cost, charges, and expenses which are properly incurred in the winding up shall be distributed to such charitable organization or organizations registered under the provision of the Income Tax Act. (Canada) as may be determined by the members of the Society at the time of winding up or dissolution. This provision shall be unalterable.
