"Canada is a big country that works best when we learn more about each other and where we come from and take time to understand our amazing and unfinished history. Encounters with Canada has been doing exactly that for over a quarter century. Each week a hundred high school students from every part of the country come together around themes that interest them - law, medicine, the arts, policing. They visit our national institutions - Parliament, the Supreme Court, the National Cemetary, the National Gallery, the Museum of Civilization - and learn about how Canada works. Most importantly they tell one another their own stories and share their hopes and aspersions. These youth are our future. Their encounter with their fellow Canadians is a defining week in their lives and in their personal understanding of what it means to be Canadian. Your contribution to the Encounters With Canada Support Foundation will enable more of Canada’s youth to participate in our foremost youth citizenship program."
