This board reviews, discusses and makes recommendations on the operation of the EWC program.

There is an annual meeting where the staff members report on their past activities and where the members of the Board can bring up matters which they feel are of importance. Since the beginning of its activities, the advice of the board has been sound and has helped improve various aspects of EWC’s operations. Its members are specialists from the field of education, and their collective experience has been most helpful to Encounters.

As representatives of the provincial/territorial governments, members of the board report to their governments on the value of the EWC program. Some make representations on behalf of our program when the question of their government’s support may arise.

Some members are also active in the areas of student and monitor recruitment, but this is not directly related to their work on the advisory board.
